How to find micro-influencers on TikTok and IG
Oct 11, 2024
There are 2 ways to find influencers
Manually, using tiktok search, it is quite powerful (pros: good for brands to get started, cons: takes effort). You can also use instagram search features as well. Here is how:
Customers following: Check your top customers IG profiles, scroll through who they follow, and look for blue checks
Hashtags: If you know your list of hashtags for your brand from your own posts, put those into the tiktok search bar and you’ll immediately see influencers.
Competitors/like minded brands: Other brands that serve the same audience/niche that you do. Check their IG/Tiktok profiles and look for tagged posts (IG) or reposts (tiktok) to find influencers that are on brand for you.
Influencers: If you find an influencer, look for other influencers they follow. They often run in similar circles.
Look for influencers with under 10K followers. Check their engagement rate (last 5 posts likes+comments/followers). Don’t forget to follow them. Be personalized in outreach. With 3 hours of work, you should be able to find 100 influencers manually for free.
Using a database. There are over a hundred of these paid tools, some more expensive than others.
Some require influencers to sign up and are marketplaces for brands/influencers to connect. Be careful of these ones, especially big ones like GRIN/Afluencer/Shopify Collabs. The creators on these are often after free products.
Some scrape IG/Tiktok, or use a 3rd party company to get all their data. If you use a couple of these tools, you will start seeing the same influencers over and over.
One good provider that we partner with is Click Analytic. Their search and outreach features are easy to use.
Some of these databases can be expensive. Make sure you chose the right one.
